Stay Beautiful When Busy

About Me

Stay Beautiful When Busy

Life is a stressful business. There is so much wear and tear on your body and soul that you just need to take care of it! I learned that the hard way. I'm Amy Reese and when I was in the middle of my PhD program, I got engaged. Now I had a wedding to plan on top of all the worries of a dissertation! In the end, I hired a wedding planner to help me manage the stress. I also had a lot of massages, chocolate, and spa days. Staying beautiful and on top of life is just difficult, but it's something I feel very passionately about. It doesn't matter what your style is, as long as you feel good about yourself. That's what beauty is! So I started this blog to help give other women tips and tricks on staying beautiful in their busy lives.

Two Lipstick Application Tips To Keep Your Clients Looking Great

Once you graduate from a canadian beauty college, and begin working as a professional, your clients will look at you as the expert on everything makeup. Nothing can add a sense of boldness to a simple look, or make a more dramatic makeup application look as complete[,] as lipstick. However, not just lipstick, but the right application. Knowing how to help your clients choose the right application is key to keeping them looking great. Here are a couple of application tips you can use and pass down to ensure your client's lipstick always looks great.

Think Skin Undertones First

When helping your clients choose a lipstick application color, always think about the undertones in their skin. Is your client's skin cool or warm? Cool undertones have hints of red or pink and typically look better with lipsticks that have shades of purple or blue tones in them. Classic red and rose gold are just two options that fall in this category.

Warmer undertones are complexions that have shades of gold or yellow in them. Bronzes, tangerines, deep plums and any bold color generally looks best. Make certain your clients understand that lipstick color shouldn't be based on their clothing or makeup, but their skin's undertone. Pairing lipstick with their skin helps their lips look better and brings out the natural beauty in their tone. It's also important to ensure your clients understand that their skin tone can change from season to season, so they should be comfortable playing around with different shades.

Consider Lip Shape

The shape of your clients lips should also come into consideration. For very large, full lips, it's generally better to go with more subtle shades. Bright and bold colors will only accentuate the lip. If your client has smaller lips, you want to avoid dark shades. Darker shades have the tendency to minimize, causing the lip to appear smaller than it actually is. Always remember, darken to diminish and brighten to highlight and accentuate. In addition to color selections, the size of the lip should also influence texture.

If your client has fuller lips, they can pretty much choose any type of lipstick texture they prefer. If your client has thinner lips, they should stick with balms. Balms decrease the appearance of lines in the lips, making the lips look more plump and full.

As a beauty expert, your clients should never leave dissatisfied. Make certain you are familiarizing yourself with all aspects of lipstick application to keep your clients happy and looking great.
